The struggle of Vogue
Vogue thrives in the faces of young pretty girls to be the face of their brand. This includes in adverts, magazines and fashion week model shows that are done in the most classy event that they can pay out. As a model it is a tough road in the fighting of staying relevant to the company but also ensuring your sanity does not fall apart. It is no lie that the Vogue models are an elite making of women that are chosen by the brand to shine their clothes to the entire world. Yet does anyone consider that even though this is a models dream come true, it costs them their freedom in certain physical ways and many mental ways as well. There is a high level of perfection the big brand demands which results in the correct popularity and audience in which they target to conquer to build their brand even bigger. During fashion month and other fashion assignments the models will have to learn to adapt to working (18 hours a day) with next too no sleep which is very dangerous for the body because it could cause the model to collapse due to sleep deprovision. When I talked about perfection this includes the models will be trained to have the mindset that they are the elite women type and this helps to execute any lack of confidence all the way through their modelling job. Every single model is expected to fake it until they make it and they do this by wearing a fake smile on their face to show that they are nothing but a beautiful women showing off to the world the fashion that Vogue has created. I really think that choosing to become a model of Vogue you are sacrificing yourself and letting the brand dehumanise your entire person. However, the job of being a model for Vogue does teach their models to embrace happiness even at the hard and draining moments which will be a skill they will use for the rest of their life. Most importantly though a model must not feel or embrace any negative feelings so a temper of any sort will be intolerable. I sound like a business ad for Vogue, but as much as I agree to have a hot temper in the work place is unprofessional, it is not so smart in the conditions the models get put through that they even have to have the perfection that is expected of them. So to conclude the struggle of being a model is the high expectations of being the definition of perfection and this means allowing yourself to be dehumanised for being the face for the brand. Small and simple blog post but this is the truth behind vogue, these women are gorgeous and are very resilient and strong for doing what they do. That's it. -keep it Gucci till next time.
