The struggle of Vogue

Vogue thrives in the faces of young pretty girls  to be the face of their brand. This includes in adverts, magazines and fashion week model shows that are done in the most classy event that they can pay out. As a model it is a tough road in the fighting of staying relevant to the company but also ensuring your sanity does not fall apart. It is no lie that the Vogue models are an elite making of women that are chosen by the brand to shine their clothes to the entire world. Yet does anyone consider that even though this is a models dream come true, it costs them their freedom in certain physical ways and many mental ways as well. There is a high level of perfection the big brand demands which results in the correct popularity and audience in which they target to conquer to build their brand even bigger. During fashion month and other fashion assignments the models will have to learn to adapt to working (18 hours a day) with next too no sleep which is very dangerous for the body beca...

The lovely Megan Short

Today I thought I would talk about a Big Idol for myself. The 19 year old youtuber Megan Short is an inspiration to teenage girls within society but she also is an upcoming inspiration to the fashion world. Megan has a total of 58.8k subscribers with this number that continues to grow and inspire others, definitely a big influence on my perspective on my life. I started watching Megan Short back at the beginning of lockdown as a form of entertainment and it has become a big a part of my day that I look forward to spending my time to watching her videos. Megan herself is such a pretty person and is one of the rare people on the social media platform that is genuine within her videos and shows her trueself and makes it possible for her followers to relate to her as a person. Megan Short is a talented, funny and a kind person as you can tell from her videos the love that she has for her friends, family and followers. It is also important to recognise that she is a strong person. I really ...

The impossible

It has been over 12 weeks that we been in lockdown due to the coronavirus Pandemic and a new way of living has been introduced into the way of living through technology which yes is convenient but I think is crazy. I have personally enjoying watching real life based movies on Netflix for my corona and chill hours you could even joke. A movie that I found especially interesting was a movie called  'The impossible', it is about a family that visits Thailand for their Christmas break. Maria Belon and her family were lucky survivors that got struct by the 2004 Tsunami that was caused from the underwater earthquake in the Indian ocean. It really is a emotional and moving story that not only portrays the family but also portrays every other family that was victims of the Tsunami and it shows the devastation that it caused to families, communities and to the environment. That movie really is worth a watch if you haven't seen it already. From that movie, I went into a spiral of tho...

Never been good at introductions

This lockdown due to the coronavirus really has myself feeling spontaneous and finally trying random late night thoughts and ideas. Hi I am Lu and this is my blog called Life's cruellest irony, my blog name was actually inspired by the quote by Douglas Coupland that states "Remember: the time you feel lonely is the time you most need to be by yourself. Life's cruellest irony." This a quote has been mostly highlighted to me during the pandemic. It isn't that we are choosing to ignore people but we are so caught up in our own little world at the moment and that's what makes us alone but I also believe this is what is uniting us as a society. Every Thursday night we clap for the NHS to show our appreciation for the key workers, the government told us to stay home and that is what the majority have done. Even though we think we are alone, we are actually more together then we have ever been before. Haha what a thought...anyways, my blog is focused on anything and ...
