6 steps to keeping sane during lockdown!
Is it just me or has anyone else been experiencing extremely vivid and strange dreams that the mind has created in the most bizarre scenarios. If anyone else is relating please do let me know in the comment section below would love to have a chat about it :) Anyways, being locked in my house for almost three months now has given me so much free time that even watching the washing go round in the washer or the water in the pan boil.. You must be thinking who on earth would do that now but come onnnn don't lie as a child you must have done this at least once. If you cannot admit you did then well you are boring, but don't worry I am here to spice up your time spent during lockdown with these 6 tips to stay sane during lockdown!
1. Exercise. This is the most obvious one but not a lot of people do it (sometimes including myself). The government have now relaxed the rules on exercise and I honestly could not tell you if that has increased the number of cases but since the lockdown hasn't been tightened up again I wold assume it has actually been okay. So take advantage of the summer weather and go for a walk or jog or even run and catch a tan whilst you are looking after your fitness. Exercise is also good for your brain because it releases hormones that make you happy.
2. Have a good routine. I don't want to come across as one of them people who are saying now is the time to start a good routine and even though I am right, those life people really do annoy me. So what I am trying to highlight though as long as you complete at least one of the things on your routine list it really can help you mentally such as sleeping at a good and healthy time so you can get the entire cycle of sleep your body needs, but also eating food that is healthy ish and eating this at a reason time. It can really make you feel better if you have a mental note of completing that one task from self motivation. Doesnt have to be anything major either.
3. Getting dressed and doing your makeup if your that type of girl/boy. I perosnally find that making somewhat effort on my appearence and changing out of the clpthes ive slept in just makes me more motivated for the day because I dont feel so icky and actually feel comfortable in my own skin becuase I just look brighter and it makes me feel happier. Most importantly it also keeps me out of bed because when I stay in my Pjs then shoer to differnt ones on I will end up going back to bed and watching Netfix which means I wont do anything that day.
4. Having a hobby. This I think is actually quit important becuase it can become soemthing you are really interested in and helps you to pass time. This can be anything such as a sport, something media influenced or even couponing which I fins do amusing to watch about on Netflix (save a lot of money with that hobby). Personally I chose to start blogging because I have always loved writing and I have always wanted to do a blog but never had time but now it has become such a fun plat form for myself to have my own voice and talk about what I want too and if people want to enjoy that with me too makes it all so rewarding. It is also good to keep your brain active with what you enjoy and its instrumental for keeping your mental health good.
5. Reflect on yourself through mediating. This is an activity I have done so it is quit personal to me because it has helped me a lot mentally. I am a person who does suffer from anxious thoughts and feeling so you can imagine the situation has not been ideal. I use music which I vibe really well to and makes me feel calm and sit down in my own space to focus on myself. I feel that this has been good because not only does it give me a break from social media but also off technology and I just sit there for 10 to 15 minutes and really reflect on who I am as person and certain behaviours on how I have interacted with people in the past and how I am going to fix the way I interact with people after lockdown. I think that you could really use this time to also do so and it will just make your life a lot happier and healthier with the people around you after lockdown. I think this is also good because it provides a relief off your technology and live in your own bubble and just do you. Social media can be overwhelming, so you need to provide your time to digest and stay sane.
6. Stay connected with friends. I want to stress that do not worry if you haven't heard from your friends and if they aren't checking up on you as much as usual because we are all living through a pandemic. Please don't feel abandoned or upset if your mates aren't checking up on you as much s they would in a perfect world because it is more than likely they will be doing what you are doing what you'll be doing to focus on yourself too. so do not stress but make sure you do keep in contact when you can and just try to have moments where you call or text your mates just so you don't feel lost without them and I am sure they will appreciate it just as much as you. Don't forget when this pandemic is over you'll be able to see them so just hold on.
I really hope these tips help, these are just personal stuff things I have been doing just to cope and not go insane because it is stressful and difficult times and it will be taking a toll on everyone. I really hope you and your families are keeping safe and if you found this blog helpful please do take a minute of your time to share this to other people because all I want to do is try to help as many people as possible and spread awareness of this. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment or your feedback it would really help me out and if you want to subscribe to this blog all you have to is put your email to follow and that would really help me with the support and all it means that every time I upload a new blog you will be notified so you don't miss any future blog posts. well that's it..- Keep it Gucci til next time :)
